It's a Boy!

Just follow the tiny arrow folks...baby number two is a little brother:-)
Little Brother looks very healthy: heart, brain, spine, lips, organs, fingers, toes, etc. He's measuring five days smaller than expected (21 weeks and 1 day instead of 6 days like we originally estimated), but they're leaving the due date on April 6th. I was very happy to hear that's he's sizable and healthy since I've been so much smaller with him than I was with Belle. The ultrasound was a whole new experience since this is apparently a very calm baby- he gave a big yawn and stretched once. During Belle's ultrasound she was doing jumping jacks and she kept punching the ultrasound wand...I love my wild girl and I'm ready for a calm one;-)
Belle (who happens to be highly possessive of me, and has a hard time when Quinn tickles me or picks me up) did not like the ultrasound very much, but thankfully her daddy was there to snuggle her. Quinn couldn't stop smiling when we found out the gender (seriously all the way out of the parking lot until I couldn't see him anymore). He claimed our little man was making the Heisman pose in the womb;-)

Isabelle Attends University

Today I had all of the best intentions of attending my classes...one nap, one fussy baby, one messy lunch time, and a few diaper and clothes changes later(all of this was for Belle...except the nap- we shared that) I missed my last class. Defeated I took Belle with me to BYU's campus turn in a paper. On our way back to the car I remembered my Professor taught one more section after mine! Of course Belle and I went, and even though I didn't have her diaper bag of toys and snacks we lasted an entire hour! YIPPEE! Belle was so great that as a reward I took her to play at a really fun park with lots of kids. We kept playing until Daddy could come and meet us after he finished work- Work Hard and then Play Hard, that's the motto in our family:-)

Happy Hout-oween!!

I carved the awesome Haunted House! I was so impressed! Quinn's pumpkin was nice too;-)
Yep- two chickens and a farmer...so fun:-)
Belle was pretty nervous about her giant chicken daddy holding her...birds of a feather, Belle
Chicken Feet!
We had a little Halloween get together on Saturday night- we had friends and family come share some treat and play Rock Band. Belle had a little friend to play with too- a nine month old boy named Alden (she kept insisting he was Baby Jakey grown up for one night just to play with her;-)
We even invited a few trick-or-treaters in out of the sleet for hot cider...fun night:-) Also, Uncle Nolan deserves an honorable mention for all of his cooking contributions on Saturday (breakfast potatoes, Ranch flavored pumpkin seeds, and pumpkin cookies...and he put the pizza in the oven)...he was pretty awesome:-)
Belle helped herself to candy whenever she saw it (even though she had no idea what it was)... this was actually at the party at our church...she's never been shy;-)

Pumpkin Patch

We went to the pumpkin patch a couple of times this year because I loved watching Belle enjoying the festivities! She loved the corn pit with Grandma Janice.
Unfortunately she inherited her mother's personality and wouldn't play in it until she felt that the corn was adequately cleaned from the surrounding hay bails and returned to the corn pit...this went on for quite some time, but I understood her need so I didn't try to rush the process;-)
The best smiles of the day were reserved for the baby goats!
Belle had A LOT to say to these little fellows:-)
She almost convinced this out to come out and play;-)
Grandpa helped her find a pumpkin just her size! It turns out she prefers green to orange- whatever...fun adventure:-)
