The Unexpected Zoo Visit

One weekend we decided to go shopping up at the outlets in Park City. When we were half way there we remembered that our children hate shopping and their discomfort makes it extremely difficult for us to enjoy ourselves either. So, we decided to switch up our game plan and go to the Zoo! We call our friends, Ben and Shelley, who live near the zoo and they happened to be buying tickets online at that very moment! So we met them and their son Miles at the gates a few minutes later and spent the day exploring together:-)
Belle absolutely adored Ben and had wonderful time riding on his shoulders and seeing the animals. Everything went along nicely unless her parents interfered...like when I wanted her to sit with this scary gorilla for a picture, or when Daddy held her in front of a huge dinosaur that sprayed her in the face and soaked her clothes (don't ask me why they decided to put dinosaur statues in the zoo but there were tons of them and Belle was terrified of them all after the spraying incident). We rode the carrousel and a train, and we all went out for ice cream afterwards! Much more fun than the outlets would have been- audible successful:-)
